It’s Official: Volkswagen’s Golf Is A Winner
VOLKSWAGEN’S seventh generation Golf has scooped the prestigious European Car of the Year title. Announced at the Geneva Motor Show, the recently launched family hatchback secured the industry award by a considerable margin over its closest challenger, the Toyota and Subaru GT86 and BRZ pairing.
Registering 414 votes to the Japanese pairing’s 202 votes, the Golf proved a popular choice with the judges from major European motoring publications. Volvo’s V40 was placed third, ahead of Ford’s B-Max, with Mercedes’ A-Class rounding out the top five.
